well, just as i got her to run i was lucky to do so, the motor has 5 seasons on it, lots of passes, i was losing alot of compression and getting excessive blowbye, so time for new rings and bearings and flex-plate(expired), any recommendations on rings? sbc 4.060 bore 3.48 stroke 5.7 h-beam rods , Keith black 13-1 hyper- euctectic pistons, brodix -8 heads, angle plug standard ex port, the bearings are clevite P series, all standard as rotating assy was all new when built, since the switch to alky i was hoping to get a good idea on the best rings for my application, hopefully have it back together for our nostalgia reunion weekend!, thanks everyone!!! john..

First off I wouldn't sweat the out of date flex plate,they rarely ever check them unless you're at a national event.
On the freshing up of your engine,whatever you have in the engine seems to be pretty good,why change?

true, i think i found everything i need, now just to get them and get this baby running within three weeks...... so much trouble, but i guess when i finally get to pull the laundry it will all be worth it,, smile.gif
