Finishing the build on my 125" altered...has a single wheelie bar...
Is there a formula to determine the correct length bar for a 125" chassis?

Promise...pics will follow soon

I've heard the longer the bar the softer the "hit" when you "use it". The McKinney alky chassis I had, had a 9' (108") long wheele bar on it.

A very short spelling lesson
1. The last four letters in "American" = I Can
2. The last four letters in "Republican" = I Can
3. The last four letters in "Democrats" = Rats
End of Lesson.
Test to follow in November.
November will be set aside as rodent extermination month.

Just about 7 feet here, the longer ones flex more, and have a softer hit. For our car it is especially important (rear engine funny car) cool.gif

I always thought 1/3rd of the wheelbase, but maybe that's for front engine dragsters. Now I'm curious and will have to measure mine.
Sorry, that was the ladder bar formula. Wheelie bars should just be somewhere between 60" - 100".

if you are really going to get after it....and make quite a bit of power then do yourself a favor and build a long bar. it is just so much easier to tune the car this way. the trick is to build it strong enough to take the initial hit, but flexible enough to bend a little and not unload the tires.
